House of Books

2018-10-11

October 2013

She builds houses with books, my girl, she cannot yet read but she knows the constructive power of stories. Some stand straight up, half open, they form hinges of fictional doors and fences (this positioning works perfectly as well for the construction of long fences to surround the fields where her horses play). Other books, open or closed, lean on top and form half open roofs. In bed, the books form smaller bedrooms where dolls can sleep. There is hardly any space left on the pillow for her own head to rest, dreaming of houses and stables and fields.
