CEMENTERIO CENTRAL

the city of the dead lingers
across metal streams
between concrete mountains
where treetops reveal
walls that conceal
its labyrinthine attempts to arrest time

the city of the dead drools
along the shadows of its tombs
from cracks in its faces
yearning for life in death
a flesh of pure past devoured
a burning embrace

this forbidden city
of uprooted and undesired
grounds its feet, earths its skin
as tomorrows sun seeps between worn hands
that knock on the cold marble
of cementerio central
