chapel for nature

hidden in the forest

made or found

the space of filtered light

the rhythmic sound of hammers

a group of people, a sunlit

saw and wood and stones

that meet and anchor to this ground

the columns, and ourselves.

 

this open space, enclosed

by seven wooden walls

straight lines guide

our eyes and make them travel

upwards, downwards

connecting sky and earth

simple structures move us

inside and out of this very landscape

touched by filtered light

 

 

The Summer School"Chapel for Nature" in Kriva Palanka, held 5-12 July 2014, was organized by the Faculty of Architecture of Skopje, Macedonia, and directed by Sami Rintala.
